Character Name: Chihiro Fujisaki
Series: Danganronpa
Timeline: Right after the second motive
Canon Resource Link: http://danganronpa.wikia.com/wiki/Chihiro_Fujisaki
Character History:
Chihiro has never been known as being strong or manly growing up. Too weak to play outside with his friends, he ended up turning to the computer. This was made more interesting due to the fact that his father was a system engineer that developed many major computer programs. It didn't take long for Chihiro discover an incomplete program that was for information retrieval that used voice input. It caught his interest and Chihiro started creating modifications for it. This lead to the realization that he could write programs on his own. His father praised him for his work when he discovered what his son was doing. This praise was taken happily and he got absorbed into programming as a result.
Of course his childhood was defined by another bit- His weakness. This led to harassment and bullying. Being told to 'Be a man" and "So weak despite being a boy" constantly in his life. Slowly an inferiority complex about being weak was born. To try and escape the harassment, Chihiro decided to start dressing as a girl to try and keep bullies from their normal target of his weakness. It only worsened his complex as it covered the problem and would make things worse when those found out that he was actually a boy. This kept up up to entering Hope's Peak Academy.
While early in his school career, Chihiro was monitoring the school servers. He found a email that was sent to the Reserve course students. 15 students missing with 13 dead, the sender being unknown. He sent this information to a upper class-man, Yuto Kamishiro, to help with that mystery. He learned nothing more about it, as the other was worried for his safety.
This was all prior to what many called "The Tragedy"
He along with the rest of his class agreed to stay locked inside the school during "The Tragedy". He helped set things up so they would be safe and everything was peaceful for about a year...Before The True Ultimate Despair, Junko, took all their memories and started 'The Killing School Life". Everything from when he stepped onto the grounds of Hope's Peak for his first day there onward was erased as if it never happened.
The first memory of his old classmates was now meeting them all for the first time in the entrance hall. 'Everyone introduced themselves, Which Chihiro recognizes Makoto and asks if they had met before. When this is denied, he gets embarrassed and apologizes twice as he assumed the other boy was mad at him. This misunderstanding is resolved quickly with reassurance.
It's not long after the introductions that there was an announcement to meet up in the gym. Once there- the confusion starts as they are greeted by Monokuma, a 'stuffed' bear. He happily informs the group that they were to live in the school forever unless they were to kill another and get away with it. When things got heated they were treated to what could happen to them if they were to try and attack the the bear-like headmaster- Mondo attacked the bear and, thanks to a quick warning to throw him from Kyoko, he avoided being in range of the bear suddenly exploding' With that they are left alone with their thoughts and the fear of another person trying to kill them. Chihiro isn't sure about this and witnesses Makoto get punched out by Mondo.
It's peaceful for two days before a motive to kill is brought up. A DVD, showing them things that might be going on outside of the school. It's enough that Chihiro went silent. Of course that was the trigger for the murder of Sayaka. They were once again summoned to the gym to be told about the class trial. During this is where 'Junko' decided to defy the rules and push Monokuma. It is here were the students get a first hand look at the death of one of their classmates. It's shocking enough that Chihiro refuses to leave her side after the chaos calms down. To not leave her alone. Because of this, Chihiro never leaves the gym to see the crime scene and has to rely on the others during the trial. He does help a little, telling Makoto that the numbers 11307 had nothing to do with programming. The trial went from looking at Makoto as the killer to Leon and was quickly concluded. Of course, this greatly upset the programmer. He believed that the students and himself were no better since they indirectly murdered Leon by voting him as the killer.
The next day it was quiet, although the disappearance of Byakuya caused a stir. They find Byakuya in the library, and he started bullying Chihiro when he called them all 'friends'. Mondo stood up for Chihiro, Saying you shouldn't bully those who are weaker. This demoralized Chihiro unintentionally, but not enough for him not to take the laptop found within with him. He wanted to attempt to fix it up so it could be used again. The next day was not much better at first, still feeling upset from the previous day and the sudden argument between Mondo and Ishimaru. He started to cry, which got Mondo to give Chihiro 'a man's promise' to protect him from any danger. This touched him and was the inspiration to make himself stronger. So that he would no longer burden others with his weakness. The idea to work out was spoken. Offers from Sakura and Aoi asked to help him but these offers were refused due to the fact that his secret of being male was still there.
The next day, the newest motive appeared, The student's most embarrassing secrets. Chihiro's was simple. "Even though he is a boy, Chihiro Fujisaki dresses as a girl." was written in his envelope. Instead of feeling scared about this coming out- He was more determined to change and become stronger so this wouldn't matter anymore. He asked to meet up with Mondo that night so they could work out toghter, also planning on sharing his secret. He felt he could trust the other boy with it and get help with his problem. That night, he went to the storage room to get a tracksuit for the occasion. He's interrupted by Celestia and makes a quick escape.
The boys locker room would be the last place Chihiro ever saw though. He met up with Mondo there and revealed his secret to him. Mondo felt intense jealousy and pressure from Monokuma's motive. The fact Chihiro so easily revealed his secret and was making a change in his life where Mondo could not and it shifted into a rage. When Chihiro's back was turned, Mondo struck him in the head with a dumbbell, ending his life quickly.
Abilities/Special Powers: Super High School Level/Ultimate Programmer- Not a super power so to speak. But Chihiro is known to be extremely talented with computers and programing. His expertise was focused mainly in artificial intelligence. He was in the middle of making what is called a "Strong AI" for the government when canon starts (As far as He knows at least). He also is the programmer for 'Alter Ego", a AI that would end up helping the other students who survived the Killing Game from Hope Peak, although it was ultimately destroyed.

Going from worrying about what would get someone to murder another to just trying to live without that going on was a strange transition. It was a welcome, if not jarring feeling for the teen who wanted nothing more then to relax and figure things out. The fact he could go where he wanted, see more then just his classmates and maybe even work towards dealing with his own issues and secret was nice. Something to take slowly and let hope start to grow again. It was safe enough...right?
Chihiro wasn't caught in any illusion that this was 100% truth though. There was suspicion and doubt at this. Could it be another trick by Monokuma to try and lull him into relaxing? If that was the case, he would take it as it came, trying to be more prepared for it when the time came. But it could be real. Finding out how to get computer and a few monitors set up was a way to soothe and let the programmer fall into his favorite thing to do. Program and work with what he had.
For now though- It still had the chance to be a new start. New people to meet, friends to talk with and maybe the chance to see his friends from home again. It was scary and the reminders of his weakness kept floating up in his head. This wasn't the time, nor the place to back down. He was determined to make this work out.
First-Person Sample:
[There isn't video at first because even with not knowing the device, the person behind it isn't sure that they want to show their face yet.]
Oh...Hello there. My name is Fujisaki Chihiro. I'm a bit concerned about this current situation. Very sudden change of scenery and everything but...I think this could work.
[A pause as the video turns on finally. It shows a very feminine looking teen who is very worried and confused, but at least they don't know it's on?]
But..If there is anyone how might answer my questions- I would be appreciative. Things aren't always what they seem.
--------
[When the video comes on, it's obvious the person on the other end of it is outside on the roof. There is a little laugh before a female figure appears, smiling. Chihiro is enjoying himself right now.]
Who knew being outside after so long would feel so good. Even to someone who isn't able to do so much. After being locked inside, thinking you may never get out...
[A slight shake of his head at this, eyes closed.]
I want to get stronger, so...if there is anyone here that has a idea of how I can work towards that? Please let me know. For now, maybe just the fresh air and new environment may help in the long run. A new chance to learn and be free...Not something to be taken lightly.
